Vev Vigano 8156 Vespress Oro 6-cup Coffee Pot Review

Vev Vigano 8156 Vespress Oro 6-cup Coffee Pot
Average Reviews:

Water chamber is coated with non-stainless tint, although the Vivano customer service is very secretive about it. Immediately it developed rust spots just after running water through the pot. Its very peculiar that stainless steel would be coated with staining tint--defeats the whole purpose. I sent it back without ever brewing coffee in it out of fear of contamination. Customer service not very informative or responsive about the matter. Vivano other pots are like that too--stay away until they even are aware of the problem.

RSVP Moka Express 9 Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker by Bialetti Review

RSVP Moka Express 9 Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker by Bialetti

This Bialetti Espresso maker is perfect. I've tried the newer fancy machines and they have been just terrible. Sometimes, going "back to basics" is exactly what you need and this fits the bill. The Italians perfected the art of brewing great espresso years and years ago and this is how they do it! Simple, clean design and easy to make. Don't hesitate!!!

Bialetti/Bradshaw International 6989 Review

Bialetti/Bradshaw International 6989
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After three years and hundreds of cups of cappuccino, this is one of my favorite things in my kitchen. So I'd like to give this five stars but I have to concede that it can be a bit finicky and that there is truth in many of the criticisms seen in other reviews. That being said, It's been a long time since I've had any difficulty with mine.Pros: tiny footprint - no plug, no separate frother. Small on the stove, small on the counter and easily fits in the cupboard.
Produces tasty espresso, cappuccino or latte for one or two.Cons:
Leaks: sometimes between the top and bottom bowls which makes a mess of the stove top, and sometimes through the pressure valve, which produces latte instead of cappuccino.
Sometimes top and bottom are hard to take apart.
Not dishwasher safe.
Quality of froth depends on water and milk and is never as robust as the best separately frothed milk.
For dietary reasons I am forced to use lactose-free milk. The local brand-name version works great, the local generic does not.Hints: use soft (or purified) water to assure maximum life of the pressure valve and its gasket.
Never tamp the coffee, and don't over fill. Wipe away any coffee which may have gotten in the seal or threads.
Measure water and milk precisely with included plastic measuring cup.
Use skim milk for best froth.
Warm the milk in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds before placing it in the Mukka.
When done pouring the cappuccino, (provided steam is no longer coming out of the valve), remove the pressure valve and fill top with water, let the valve soak in this water.
Clean top and bottom with a stiff plastic bottle brush. Avoid soap. Don't worry about the inside bottom becoming discolored - that's expected and desired.
Bialetti makes this in a number of sizes and finishes. The one you want has the glass bowl (sold through William-Sonoma). This is important because it allows you to see the froth develop and the deep coffee color develop. If you don't wait long enough before turning off the flame (or taking it off the burner) you may get good foam but weak coffee. If you wait too long the coffee will be strong but the foam will dissipate.

Stainless Steel Cappuccino / Milk Frother Review

Stainless Steel Cappuccino / Milk Frother
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I couldn't decide whether to buy a battery powered frother or this. I am so pleased with this purchase!!! I absolutely love it. It is very convenient because you can heat the milk right in the pitcher, then froth and pour. Perfect every time, and you can adjust how frothy or foamy you want the milk once you get the hang of it.
I couldn't be happier with the results, and I don't have to worry about buying batteries!

Presto 02822 6-Cup Stainless-Steel Coffee Percolator Review

Presto 02822 6-Cup Stainless-Steel Coffee Percolator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally purchased this percolator to throw in my suitcase for business and vacation travel because I can't stand those funky hotel coffee brewers and cheap single-serving coffee packets. But, this Presto percolator is such a fast brew, the coffee is so much better, and it is so easy to take care of, that it has become my daily brewer, even when I am home. There are no gaskets to remove (stove-top espresso makers), there is nowhere for mold to build up (have you ever looked at the area where the coffee comes out of the electric coffee makers after a few days?), and all of the parts are stainless steel or plastic. Plus, it doubles as a teapot while traveling; just wash it, add water, and plug it in! In less then 5 minutes, you can have a hot cup of tea in your hotel room. The parts are all solid, sturdy, and fit together perfectly, too.

Vev Vigano 8194 Kontessa Inox 4-cup Coffee Pot Review

Vev Vigano 8194 Kontessa Inox 4-cup Coffee Pot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
given the quality of bean, the Vev Vigano makes a good tasting espresso. parts fit together well and easily. an eye appealing design, the Kontessa looks beautiful on display in the kitchen.
the design flaw in the Kontessa espresso maker is that the tank is lined with non-stainless steel material which easily corrodes. this is not coffee stain; it has the appearance and feel of rust. this rusting occurred even with reasonable care and cleaning including proper drying following each, most often daily use and within the first three months after purchase.
i will not use the Kontessa espresso maker because of its obvious health hazard. i would have returned it to the manufacturer if the process of returning it was less than the expense of purchasing it.

Aerolatte 20 Mooo Milk Frother with Case Review

Aerolatte 20 Mooo Milk Frother with Case
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It works very well for frothing milk for cappuccinos and lattes. The kids enjoy using it for blending drink powders in their beverages. The Aerolatte is easily to clean and store in a drawer too. For the price you can have a couple on hand. I also like that the batteries last a long time especially for how often we use it. I would recommend this product for those that do not have counter space for a cappuccino machine and for those who have kids that enjoy well blended chocolate milk!

BonJour Cafe Milano 6-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker Review

BonJour Cafe Milano 6-Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I just bought the 9-cupper and was suprised at how little it was. That's 9 cups? I said to myself. It's more like one! But espresso is supposedly taken in itty bitty cups (shot glasses with handles), hence the smallness.
Next surprise was the lack of instructions. I had to fiddle with it and experiment, so I'm going to share what I learned. First, take the thing COMPLETELY apart and wash. Unscrew the pot in the middle. Take out the filter in the bottom part that holds the ground. Now, (I missed this part) take out the filter in the top part that will hold your finished coffee. There's a gasket that holds in in. Get your fingernail under it and just lift it out. Mine was put in backwards and it prevented the coffee from rising to the upper chamber. Very frustrating. Wash and dry.
To brew, fill the bottom chamber with cold water up to just beneath the overfill hole - it's a brass nut with a hole in it. Set the funnel-filter in and add your grounds. Grounds should be a fine powder for better taste. Don't overfill and no need to tamp down. I take 4 tablespoons of beans and grind them myself for a little over 4 tbsp of grounds. Before putting the upper chamber back on, make sure the filter is back in with gasket. The smooth side should be down, facing the grounds. Screw the 2 halves back together and put on the stove over high heat (electric) or a flame. You'll hear it and see steam when the water starts to boil and percolate up.
I'm still working out how much time to let it steam, but I'd say give it about 3-5 minutes to fill up the upper chamber. There is a lot of guesswork and estimation here and you just have to figure it out. The first pot will taste terrible. I spat it out and tried again. Each time I make a pot, the coffee tastes better than the last time. Since my first day was an exercise in frustration, by the time I got it right, I was climbing the wall. The coffee will be better - much better - than most espresso stands, more like a Turkish coffee than Starbucks.
Don't overcook it or it'll be burnt and horrible. Don't try to boil off all the water in the bottom chamber. You'll always leave some unboiled. Don't worry about keeping it clean and shiny. The interior quickly stains. I think a thin layer of coffee grime actually protects your final coffee from that metallic aluminum taste, in fact, and explains why a used pot makes better coffee than one right out of the box. However, I like it to shine on the outside, so I do use dishwater and just swish it around on the inside to get the grounds out.
It's not as easy to use as an electric coffee maker, but it's worth it for the superior coffee.

I like this espresso maker. It makes a tasty espresso and it's good looking. It is a little hard to screw together tightly and it takes a little longer to brew than my old aluminium pot, but we were interested in avoiding cooking with aluminium so this seemed like a good solution. I'm not sure why they call it a 10 cup pot. I can get about 8 espressos out of it.

Alessi 9090/1 Stovetop Espresso Coffee Maker 1 Cup Review

Alessi 9090/1 Stovetop Espresso Coffee Maker 1 Cup
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
12 years ago I went to the Cannes Film Festival for the first time. It lasts two weeks...way too long when your "job" is basically to attend every party thrown. Somewhere in the middle of it I met a gorgeous German journalist. We ended up in London afterwards for a few more sodden days. When she came to visit me in L.A., she brought this Alessi 6-cup Stainless Steel Espresso maker as a gift. The relationship didn't last but ever since then, from L.A. to New York and back to L.A.; on open fires while camping; on snowboarding trips and aboard sailboats, I have made two pots of coffee a day and can't imagine life without it. Somewhere around 4 or 5 thousand pots and 7 years later, the lower half developed hairline cracks that allowed the water to leak out. Alessi replaced it for free.
The coffee is great but if you are looking for thick, strong espresso with the foam on top, this isn't it. It's more like strong coffee, which is perfect because the "6 cups" of espresso fills up one large mug and that's what I drink. It tastes delicious but is very much its own thing. Guests love it.
I like well-made machines and this is a coffee machine. The handle snaps down with an incredibly satisfying feel. The metal is thick and lustrous. Here's something great: because the whole pot heats up on the stove, the coffee inside will stay hot for an hour. Make sure you use a pot holder to grab the handle, though.
Here's one thing I can guarantee: from time to time you will forget the pot cooking on the stove until the smell of scorched coffee grounds reminds you. You will rush back to find the lower half blue with heat and bone dry, with the coffee burnt and boiling in the top half. At this point, don't do anything. Leave the whole thing on the stove to cool and take it apart only then. Pouring out the coffee and running cold water on it will cause the metal to weaken and leave you with the cracks mentioned above. Metal doesn't mind heat and would rather cool gradually.
Over time, the lower half will lose its brand new look but that's true of all of us I suppose. It you don't use abrasives on the top half it will remain new-looking forever. After a few years you may want to replace the rubber ring that seals the two halves.
Buy this espresso maker. You will not be sorry. Or buy it for a friend whom you want to remember you every time he makes coffee...for years.

Bialetti Replacement Gasket and Screen Filter for 3 Cup Stovetop Moka Express Coffee Makers
Average Reviews:

These are original Bialetti parts and work perfectly. I just couldn't tell from the photo how many gaskets were included, so I bought two packages. It turns out that each package contains one metal screeen and 3 gaskets. Since the gasket is the only thing that has ever worn out, and has usually lasted me a year or more of daily use before disintegrating (or liquifying in one case), I now have a six year supply of gaskets and 2 extra screens. I hope I still enjoy capuccino as much in six years as I do now!

Given the negative reviews of what seems to be the same product on a different page, and the complaints about errors in various Amazon product pages, I simply want to say this is the gasket-filter set for the Bialetti (original) 9-cup moka express, which is aluminum, and both filter and gasket fit perfectly. The product descriptions are very detailed and accurate--it is a model product page.

I wanted to disagree with the other reviewer's opinion and say that this is an excellent stovetop espresso maker, especially for a larger size. Strong, easy to pour, and good looking. It is important not to cook it too hot so that the entire batch will percolate correctly.
