Vev Vigano 8156 Vespress Oro 6-cup Coffee Pot Review

Vev Vigano 8156 Vespress Oro 6-cup Coffee Pot
Average Reviews:

Water chamber is coated with non-stainless tint, although the Vivano customer service is very secretive about it. Immediately it developed rust spots just after running water through the pot. Its very peculiar that stainless steel would be coated with staining tint--defeats the whole purpose. I sent it back without ever brewing coffee in it out of fear of contamination. Customer service not very informative or responsive about the matter. Vivano other pots are like that too--stay away until they even are aware of the problem.

RSVP Moka Express 9 Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker by Bialetti Review

RSVP Moka Express 9 Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker by Bialetti
Average Reviews:

This Bialetti Espresso maker is perfect. I've tried the newer fancy machines and they have been just terrible. Sometimes, going "back to basics" is exactly what you need and this fits the bill. The Italians perfected the art of brewing great espresso years and years ago and this is how they do it! Simple, clean design and easy to make. Don't hesitate!!!

Bialetti/Bradshaw International 6989 Review

Bialetti/Bradshaw International 6989
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After three years and hundreds of cups of cappuccino, this is one of my favorite things in my kitchen. So I'd like to give this five stars but I have to concede that it can be a bit finicky and that there is truth in many of the criticisms seen in other reviews. That being said, It's been a long time since I've had any difficulty with mine.Pros: tiny footprint - no plug, no separate frother. Small on the stove, small on the counter and easily fits in the cupboard.
Produces tasty espresso, cappuccino or latte for one or two.Cons:
Leaks: sometimes between the top and bottom bowls which makes a mess of the stove top, and sometimes through the pressure valve, which produces latte instead of cappuccino.
Sometimes top and bottom are hard to take apart.
Not dishwasher safe.
Quality of froth depends on water and milk and is never as robust as the best separately frothed milk.
For dietary reasons I am forced to use lactose-free milk. The local brand-name version works great, the local generic does not.Hints: use soft (or purified) water to assure maximum life of the pressure valve and its gasket.
Never tamp the coffee, and don't over fill. Wipe away any coffee which may have gotten in the seal or threads.
Measure water and milk precisely with included plastic measuring cup.
Use skim milk for best froth.
Warm the milk in the microwave for 30 to 45 seconds before placing it in the Mukka.
When done pouring the cappuccino, (provided steam is no longer coming out of the valve), remove the pressure valve and fill top with water, let the valve soak in this water.
Clean top and bottom with a stiff plastic bottle brush. Avoid soap. Don't worry about the inside bottom becoming discolored - that's expected and desired.
Bialetti makes this in a number of sizes and finishes. The one you want has the glass bowl (sold through William-Sonoma). This is important because it allows you to see the froth develop and the deep coffee color develop. If you don't wait long enough before turning off the flame (or taking it off the burner) you may get good foam but weak coffee. If you wait too long the coffee will be strong but the foam will dissipate.

Stainless Steel Cappuccino / Milk Frother Review

Stainless Steel Cappuccino / Milk Frother
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I couldn't decide whether to buy a battery powered frother or this. I am so pleased with this purchase!!! I absolutely love it. It is very convenient because you can heat the milk right in the pitcher, then froth and pour. Perfect every time, and you can adjust how frothy or foamy you want the milk once you get the hang of it.
I couldn't be happier with the results, and I don't have to worry about buying batteries!

Presto 02822 6-Cup Stainless-Steel Coffee Percolator Review

Presto 02822 6-Cup Stainless-Steel Coffee Percolator
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I originally purchased this percolator to throw in my suitcase for business and vacation travel because I can't stand those funky hotel coffee brewers and cheap single-serving coffee packets. But, this Presto percolator is such a fast brew, the coffee is so much better, and it is so easy to take care of, that it has become my daily brewer, even when I am home. There are no gaskets to remove (stove-top espresso makers), there is nowhere for mold to build up (have you ever looked at the area where the coffee comes out of the electric coffee makers after a few days?), and all of the parts are stainless steel or plastic. Plus, it doubles as a teapot while traveling; just wash it, add water, and plug it in! In less then 5 minutes, you can have a hot cup of tea in your hotel room. The parts are all solid, sturdy, and fit together perfectly, too.

Vev Vigano 8194 Kontessa Inox 4-cup Coffee Pot Review

Vev Vigano 8194 Kontessa Inox 4-cup Coffee Pot
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
given the quality of bean, the Vev Vigano makes a good tasting espresso. parts fit together well and easily. an eye appealing design, the Kontessa looks beautiful on display in the kitchen.
the design flaw in the Kontessa espresso maker is that the tank is lined with non-stainless steel material which easily corrodes. this is not coffee stain; it has the appearance and feel of rust. this rusting occurred even with reasonable care and cleaning including proper drying following each, most often daily use and within the first three months after purchase.
i will not use the Kontessa espresso maker because of its obvious health hazard. i would have returned it to the manufacturer if the process of returning it was less than the expense of purchasing it.
